GRL SPOTLIGHT | Stella Beeby

Featuring ep. 2 of GRL Spotlight, from here in Melbourne we introduce you to Stella Beeby @psychic_stellab

We met Stella several months ago and love everything she's about, more specifically her ability to speak the truth about her journey, and how she chooses to contribute to the world through sharing her many gifts and talents.

Stella is a Psychic Medium and started practising her craft at the early age of 13. In more recent years deciding to ditch the 9-5, she now dedicates her time to the pursuit of purpose and fulfilment - and for Stella, that means providing guidance and support to the people around her.

Recently we sat down with Stella and took the time to get to know her on a personal level, with the intention of authenticity and vulnerability at the core of our conversation.

Navigating any aspect of life can be nothing short of a wild ride, the power of authentic and honest conversations can ease that, welcome in support and guidance, with the added possibility of empowering others to follow suit.

So, please read on, learn a thing or two, or feel a sense of empowerment somewhere throughout. A huge thank you to Stella for being so honest and courageous in sharing the ups, the downs, and all the weird stuff in-between!

What challenges have you faced throughout your journey?

School was a big challenge for me - I went to an all-girl school. I found it so difficult fitting in and maintaining relationships with the girls there. I was in an environment that made me so unhappy. I lost my confidence - I started comparing myself to others, I became anxious and depressed, and I felt like I didn’t belong. I actually started to wonder why I was even here, what was my purpose? I didn’t know where I was heading in life, and what the future was going to hold.

How did you overcome these challenges in the initial stages?

I removed myself from environments that weren’t making me happy - like school, for example. I let go of relationships that would make me feel bad about myself, I learnt to say “No” to people - if I felt like I was being walked over. I started going to counselling to be able to express how I was feeling and to let things go. I also started using positive affirmations and took a spiritual pathway.

Through experience and discovery, have you now implemented strategies to navigate through these times with a little more ease?

Talking really helps me - I talk to someone I trust and I feel understands me. I take some “Me time” when things get too much or too overwhelming. I have also learned to just let go of things once they have happened. It is in the past, there is no point for me to dwell on it. I do take my time to feel the emotions for as long as I need to, and then I let them go when I am ready.

How can we better support each other within a trusted community?

Like I mentioned before - talking to someone you trust is always important, or someone who has been through something similar. Starting a conversation so someone who does find it hard to speak up can feel comfortable enough to join in and find their own voice. There is always someone out there, who has gone through a similar experience.
